
Steamed fish is a perfect healthy, light and easy meal. You can have this alone or with some rice or couscous to soak up all the sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pickerel (any other fish you prefer)
- 4tbsp ginger
- 4pc garlic
- 1/4 bunch cilantro
- 50ml sesame
- 1tbsp brown sugar
- 200ml soy sauce
- 1pc birds eye chilli (optional)
- 1/4tsp black pepper
- 1pc lime, juice
Method
1. Clean and dress fish.
2. Grate ginger and mince garlic.
3. In a bowl, mix the chopped cilantro, sesame oil, sugar, soy, ginger, garlic, lime juice, pepper and chilli.
4. Pour soy mixture on fish, then marinate in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
5. Heat up water in the steamer, place fish in the steamer and cover. Steam for approximately 15 – 25 minutes or until flesh easily flakes apart.
6. Serve alone or with rice/couscous.
